Photographic evidence of me working on the first draft of "The Fault Lies Not..."  Making good progress on it.

060513 Progress Report: ON A COLD WIND 2nd Draft Complete

The ending can be harder to write than the beginning but are so much more satisfying...even if it's the second draft...

Of course, now that it's finished, I have a lot of typing to do. ON A COLD WIND came in at fifteen chapters...and I've only typed up to Chapter Six.

I sigh deeply.

It...Is...Alive! The Website Is Now Live

Since I decided to take the plunge, become an independent author and self-publish, I've been researching promotion and marketing. I don't want to become that author...the one who can't post anything on Facebook or Twitter without pimping his books.

Part of my research said it would be beneficial to have a website. So after hemming and hawing for the better part of a year, I decided to take the plunge. Over the last week, I've been working on a website, working through Wix.com. It's not fancy or flashy, but it gives me a place to direct people. Instead of telliing people to go to Lulu for With Eyes Open... and Smashwords for Campfire Stories, I can say, just go to the website and click on the BOOKS button.

It was actually pretty easy to do. Wix has a variety of template, and setting up the pages was pretty straightforward. I had to start using my Hotmail account again, y'know, for when those fan letters start flooding in.

<ahem>

It Arrives...On Sunday, 06/02/13

I've talked about it in the past but it's only been over the last week or so that I've actually put the effort into creating a web site. So now I have one, and it's almost finished. I have a couple of things to polish but I should be able to have it go live on Sunday, June 2.

Now I'll have one central place to pimp the books, one place where I can send people who want to find and buy them. Well, hopefully buy them...

It was pretty easy setting the page up. I went to wix.com, which made the process pretty easy and straightforward...and most importantly, free. There were a number of templates to choose from, colors, backgrounds, fonts...you name it.

With luck, this'll make it easier to get the word about about the books as they come out.
